Paddy's Memorial Card
The portrait of Paddy was taken by Eddie MacKinnon at The Jura Music Festival - see images below.
On Passing a Graveyard
May perpetual light shine upon
The faces of all who rest here.
May the lives they lived
Unfold further in spirit.
May all their past travail
Find ease in the kindness of the clay.
May the remembering earth
Mind every memory they brought.
May the rain from the heavens
Fall gently upon them.
May the wildflowers and grasses
Whisper their wishes into light.
May we reverence the village of presence
In the stillness of this silent field.

Above: Grave of Paddy's mother. She is buried,
according to her wishes, at Achnabrec Cemetery, Lochgilphead.
Above and below: the grave of Francis Boyle,
Paddy's father, who is interred at Kilchianaig Graveyard, at Inverlussa,
the village to where he and our Mother came to work for
the Fletcher Family in 1947. He asked to be laid to rest here.
On the day of his funeral, as we arrived for the burial, we
were welcomed to the Graveyard by Charles Fletcher, and Neil Campbell.
It was such a fine touch.
The grave with the cross on top of the monument is the resting place of Anthony Boyle and his family.
Anthony was Francie's father who was married to Mia Gallagher; they had six children
Gerard, Francis, Sarah, Mary, Annie and Theresa.
Sharkeyand his daughter Annie Sharkey.
On the evening of Tuesday 22nd May Paddy was taken home to Knockrome by his friends Craig and Jean MacAffer.
Family and friends gathered in the garden at Paddy's home to say farewell. George the Minister said a prayer and
it was an opportunity for us all to say our farewells in our own way. The following morning Terry, the Rozga family,
Millers and others arrived to help. Duncan, accompanied by George, drove Paddy to the church for the service.
We were moved by the kindness of everyone during this period, and, as Maggie said, Paddy was as much family to many others as he was to us.
Remembering Paddy on the 15th May and every day
It is three years since Paddy made his departure from this world [2010]
He is always in our hearts, thoughts and conversations.
May he bring a smile to your face when you remember him.
Remembering Paddy on the 15th May and every day
It is four years since Paddy made his departure from this world [2011]
'Let us not look for you only in memory
Where we would grow lonely without you
You would want us to find you in presence
Beside us when beauty brightens
When kindness glows
And music echoes eternal tones'
